Thank you so much for your help md 4 me,
Do you know how much of the gamsat textbook covers section 1 and 2? Do you think it is also worth purchasing the essay writing components of Des O'niel or mediprep to assess your essays prior to the gamsat?

It's true that the DVDs were designed for the MCAT but they cover all the Section III science topics for the GAMSAT and the teaching is very clear. Of course, you must keep in mind that you are building understanding, relationships but don't focus on memorization.
Also, just this summer, Gold Standard published a complete review textbook for the GAMSAT (the 1st GAMSAT textbook ever published). It has a complete section by section review, practice questions and worked answers. Each science chapter has a guide that points to a particular section of which DVD that should be used as a lecture for that chapter.
You can get more info here:

Good luck!

Hi everyone,
I am starting to study for the 2011 GAMSAT, but am having trouble knowing where to start. I have been researching study materials, and I am looking for opinions on what is the most useful one to purchase.
I have a reasonable biology background, but havn't done chemistry or physics since school, and also I want study material that is helpful in section 1 and the essay section. What can people recommend? A lot of people endorse MCAT gold standard DVDs, but is this not for the US? Would this be suitable for GAMSAT study as well?
Thanks

If it is on there, what type of maths is it and what should i study?
Thanks.

Hi jensysmith,
of course you can keep working while you prepare for GAMSAT. There is no need to quit unless you feel the pressure is too great. All you have to do is balance both. take out some time regularly and practice the papers. what is really necessary is to brush up your analytical, language and reasoning skills, because that is what the paper is all about really, and none of these actually require a 24*7 rigorous study schedule.
Just make sure that you can actually balance out work and study without breaking under the strain, and acing the test would not be as tough as it looks.
All the best!!!!

Hi all.
Yep - I am a lawyer who intends on sitting GAMSAT 2011
Been a while since I have sat in an exam room but here goes nothing. Strengths in WC and Humanities but will have to bone up on Bio, Chem and Physics.
I have posted in the Study Group section for a Brisbane Study Group in Brisbane.
Looking forward to meeting some like minded people to share the load and get this underway!!!
Regards
AJT

Hi everyone!
My name is Alison, I'm 23 & am planning to sit the Melb 2011 GAMSAT! I finished my Biomedical Science degree last year and only have a GPA of 5.4!! Terrible I know! I had a little bit too much fun during my undergrad degree!!
I'm not too concerned with Section III as I've always clicked with science but English & Humanities are not my forte! Reading through this forum I feel I'm the only one who's not concerned with Section III.. Maybe I'm a bit of a lost cause! Nevermind.. 'Gotta do wat ya gotta do!'
I'm now committed to putting everything I can into the Med dream and am excited to get cracking on my studies!! Looking forward to sharing all the highs and lows of the GAMSAT experience
