Use the right equation to calculate your GPA first. As I know most medical schools will concern your GPA before your GAMSAT result, but it would be good if you can write an email to them.

Where are you?
Different universities usually have different requirements. Most of the medical schools in the UK only accept domestic students and require a UK Bachelors (Honours) degree. There are quite a lot of options in Australia, but most of them require a GPA of 5 or above.

For The University of Notre Dame Australia, a bonus of up to 0.5 may be added to the GPA for applicants who have completed a Masters or PhD degree at time of application.

Take a look of this web page. It might be helpful. GAMSAT 2011

Good luck

Hello.
I'm considering to sit GAMSAT next year for the Medicine entry 2012.
I have many friends who have sat GAMSAT previously therefore I know little bit about GAMSAT.
I have calculated my GPA(I did my degrees in NZ) then converted accordingly to ACER booklet.
However, I have concerns for my GPA and I'm not sure if I will be elligible to apply for medical schools.
My Bachelor of Science GPA scores have been calculated as follows:
GPA 1 : 5.34
GPA 2 : 3.77
GPA 3 : 5.06
I don't think this is high enough to be accepted in medical schools.
I'm hoping that if I study really hard for GAMSAT, and if I get scores above 85 or so, (even if my GPA is not too high) I will be accepted for medicine.
I have done Graduate Diploma and GPA is 7 (since I got all A+). I heard UWA considers GradDip GPA. Any other medical schools consider GradDip?

Which schools give greater weight on GAMSAT score?
Do I have any chance with my overall Bsc GPA of 4.72?? Confused

It will be good to get enough reading from your local newspaper or some other sources, familiar with some social issues and understand how to argue different topics. You can find some links here: GAMSAT Preparation

All applicants must have completed, or be in the final year of a Bachelor degree. No preference is given to graduates with particular Bachelor degrees.

Yes, you can try UMAT

GAMSAT Discussion :: GAMSAT Tutor - Chemistry, Biology, Physics - Melbourne :: Posted by SJF

Hi All,

My name is Scott and I've been a GAMSAT tutor for the past 3 years, and am offering tuition for students in my area.
Without getting to deep into anything here's a bit about me:

Qualifications:
- BBiomed Sci (University of Melbourne)
- Grad Dip Sci (Hons) (University of Melbourne)
- PhD Chemistry (current) University of Melbourne

Experience:
- I am a current tutor for Biochemistry/Chemistry at the University of Melbourne (since 2005)
- I have taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the GAMSAT level since 2007
- I am a current demonstrator for Chemistry at the University of Melbourne
- I am a current exam marker for Chemistry at the University of Melbourne

I had 6 GAMSAT students last year, all of which got high enough scores to safely say they'll get their #1 or #2 pick of Universities for Med. One did particularly well, scoring in the top 2 percent in the Science section. I have written references from them if required.

I have some students already for this year, but can take more. Rates are dependant on how long the session is, travel, and whether it's group/private. Minimum rate is $40 per hour.

Please feel free to contact me: 0407056493

Happy Studying!!!
