GAMSAT Discussion :: My GPA good enough? :: Posted by skyz

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010
Hi all,

Ive decided to jump on the GAMSAT Bandwagon after completing my undergraduate studies and had time to relax. Anyways, ive calculated my GPA to be the following:

GPA1 - 4.56 (complete year + one failed subject)
GPA2 - 5.53 (complete year + repeat of failed subject)
GPA3 - 5.69 (complete year)

Althought it 'appears' that ive passed the minimum requirements of most universities, but im uncertain about my GPA1 (since i failed a subject) and my GPA2 (repeated subject). Do you guys think that my GPA1 and GPA2 will severely ruin my chance of getting into medicine in 2011 after i sit the 2010 GAMSAT?

Cheers

GAMSAT Discussion :: Gamsat 2010 in USA :: Posted by eternal.abyss

Hey everyone,
Just out of curiosity, is anyone here planning to sit the gamsat in the US?
Also, for those who may have already taken the test in Washington DC, where was it held? I know the testing centres can change from year to year, but it'd be nice to have a rough idea early on because I'd like to purchase at least the plane tickets soon, if not the hotel room=)
Anyway, I hope everybody's test preparation is going well! Good luck 2010 gamsatees ~

You usually get seven years full-time years of HECS, but for a graduate medical degree, you can go over that.

From what I have gathered, there are no restrictions but obviously time is the enemy. The key is quality over quantity, so three paragraphs of concise structured argument will score better than three pages of scrambled thoughts.

Hi everyone,

I have been reading up a lot on the GAMSAT but can't seem to find any information on the length of each essay. Is there any kind of limit the markers are looking for or are there no restrictions? (within reason).

Just curious, thanks!

Yeah its not bad.. but about the same rate as the most expensive undergrad degree. Just that admission is the truly hard part!
